Welcome to the TeleOutreach Center

The TeleOutreach Center at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain brings together researchers, clinical pediatric providers, and developmental specialists to use technology to understand and to address barriers to assessment and intervention for children, youth, and adults with developmental and mental health needs, and their families. The TeleOtreach Center is focused on the following objectives —

  • Delivering clinical services to more families,
  • Leveraging technology to provide training and education,
  • Connecting quickly with families and providers facing urgent situations,
  • Conducting innovative research,
  • Building scalable connections with community.

What Does TeleOutreach Mean?

Teleoutreach refers to the use of telecommunications to extend the impact of knowledge and discovery transfer from teams within the MIDB. Activities that align with this mission range from improving inclusion in research for families in different geographic locations, to development ofintervention services and pathways conducted via telemedicine, and extending the reach of broader educational and dissemination activities.

In the News: New Support for Tele-Outreach

The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation has awarded a $2 million, multi-year grant to the University of Minnesota Foundation to support tele-outreach services through the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain. ICI, as a MIDB partner, will lead the creation of the MIDB TeleOutreach Center over the next three years, bringing together clinical pediatric providers and developmental specialists to reach underserved communities around the state with convenient and cost-effective services.
